Note:

  • Before cleaning the appliance, pull out the mains plug. Never immerse the appliance in water.
  • The appliance will rinse itself automatically if you switch it on when it is cold or switch it off after it has dispensed coffee.
  • If the appliance is cold when switched on or if it is switched off after dispensing coffee, it rinses automatically. The system is therefore self-cleaning.
  • If the appliance has not been used for a prolonged period of time (e.g. while you are on holiday), clean the entire appliance thoroughly, including the coffee outlet, water tank, milk system, brewing unit and trays.

Cleaning and maintenance of your EQ.500 coffee machine.

To keep your appliance looking its best and working efficiently for a long time, it is important to clean and maintain it carefully. In this section, you will find out which cleaning agents are suitable for your appliance.

Unsuitable cleaning products may damage the surfaces of the appliance.

  • Do not use abrasive detergents or cleaning agents containing alcohol or spirits
  • Do not use hard scouring pads or cleaning sponges.
  • Do not use citric acid, vinegar or any vinegar-based agents to descale the appliance.
  • For cleaning and descaling, only use suitable tablets.
  • New sponges may contain salts that can cause rust film to develop on stainless steel surfaces.
  • Always remove any residues of limescale, coffee, milk, cleaning and descaling solutions immediately, to prevent corrosion.

Some parts you can clean easily in the dishwasher.

Please be aware that some appliances' components can’t be cleaned in the dishwasher.

How to clean the exterior of your EQ.500 coffee machine.

1. Clean the housing, the high-gloss surfaces and the control panel with a microfibre cloth.
2. Clean the outlet system with a soft, damp cloth after drinks have been dispended.
3. If the appliance has not been used for a long time (e.g. whilst you have been on holiday) clean the entire appliance, including the outlet system, milk system, trays and brewing unit.

Notes.

  • Never immerse the appliance or the power cord in water.
  • Liquids must not be spilled on the appliance plug connection.
  • Do not use any steam cleaners or high-pressure cleaners to clean the appliance.
  • Allow hot appliance parts to cool down before touching them.
