Service programme. Follow the explanation if a service programme is mentioned on the display.

After certain time intervals, your appliance will recommend that you use the service programmes. Use the service programmes to clean your appliance thoroughly.

Depending on the water hardness and use of the appliance, the display will show the following messages after prior notification:

• Calc’nClean necessary. Please press menu for 3 sec.
• Please rinse milk system.
• Cleaning necessary. Please press menu for 3 sec.
• Descaling necessary. Please press menu for 3 sec.

Note:

• If you accidentally interrupt the service programme, you must reset it.
• You can combine the cleaning and descaling programmes using the Calc’nClean service.
• Clean your appliance with a soft damp cloth immediately after a service programme to remove any descaling solution residues and prevent corrosion.

You can combine the cleaning and descaling programmes using the Calc'nClean service programme. Run the Calc'nClean programme when your appliance prompts you. The process takes approx. 43 minutes. To process this service programme correctly you need acleaner tabletand adescaler tablet.

Note: This programme requires the "brewing unit" to be clean.

1. Press the [menu] button to open the menu.
2. Use the to select “Calc’nClean”.
3. Press [ok] to start the programme.
4. Empty the drip tray and re-insert.
5. Empty, clean and re-connect the milk container.
6. Open the grounds compartment, add a cleaning tablet.
7. Close the grounds compartment and , add a cleaning tablet, close the grounds compartment and confirm.
8. Remove the water filter (if present) and confirm.
9. Fill the empty water tank with lukewarm water up to the marking “0.5 l”. Dissolve 1 descaling tablet in the water.
10. Place a container with a capacity of at least 1.0 l under the outlet system and confirm.

The programme runs - duration approx. 19 minutes.

Note: If there is not enough descaling solution in the water tank, you will be asked to: Refill with still water and confirm.

11. Rinse out the water tank and (if removed) re-insert the water filter.
12. Pour in fresh still water up to the "max" marking and re-insert the water tank.

The Programme runs - duration approx. 7 minutes.

13. Empty the container and confirm.
14. Empty the drip tray and re-insert.
15. Empty, clean and re-connect the milk container. The programm has finished.
16. The appliance is ready for use again.
