Increased efficiency of washing machines.

Our latest washing machines use up to 68% less energy and up to 12% less water per kg laundry load in comparison to a similar appliance from 2001. Main measures for improved efficiency:

  • Aqua sensor for saving water and time
  • Sensors regulate precisely the amount of water
  • Cycle time and the amount of rinsing water are automatically adapted to the load of laundry.

As one of the market leaders in the home appliance industry, we also have an obligation to continue to also lead in environmental and climate protection too. In 2020, we are setting all our own activities for Siemens Home Appliances as part of the BSH Home Appliances Group on a climate-neutral basis – on all our sites worldwide. We continue to improve energy efficiency and significantly increase the amount of green energy we generate by ourselves.

Use smart assistants like the smartStorage Guide to keep your food in the fridge fresh for longer and to get inspiring recipes based on existing ingredients, so that no food is wasted.

As an owner of a photovoltaic system on the roof, you can use the Flex Start function of Home Connect and its partner SMA. The washing machine, dryer, or dishwasher can be started automatically as soon as self-generated photovoltaic power is available.

Modern recycling technologies ensure that valuable resources can be recovered from old appliances. In urban mining projects, we develop closed material cycles for the recovery of valuable secondary raw materials. The use of recycled plastics and bio-materials is also being tested to develop biodegradable materials for example the packaging of our appliances.

Save energy and water with automated detergent distribution – i-Dos.

Our washing machines with i-Dos save 18% water per use.

Incorrect dosage of detergent can lead to increased energy and water consumption as manual dosing often uses too much detergent and the machine has to rinse. With i-Dos, an integrated precision dispenser precisely determines how much liquid detergent your laundry needs based on load quantity, water hardness and degree of soiling.

Transforming humidity into heat - Zeolith. 

Our dishwashers with Zeolith save 20% water and 20% energy per use compared to conventional dishwashers from 2006.

Using advanced drying technologies, Siemens dishwashers keep energy consumption to a minimum. Zeolith®, a form of zeolite mineral has the astonishing ability to absorb moisture and convert it to heat. Therefore, the heat produced naturally by the Zeolith® is used for the drying cycle. No additional energy is required to heat up the contents of your dishwasher for the drying process.

Our cooling appliances with hyperFresh Premium keep food fresh for up to three times longer.

Siemens cooling appliances not only offer with hyperFresh Premium the latest technology to keep your food fresh as long as possible to therefore minimize waste of food. Also materials and production are increasingly ecofriendly. Wasted material is collected and reused as recyclate. PVC materials are extensively avoided. And insulation materials keep their performance for a lifetime.

Our most eco-friendly drying technology - heat pump dryers.

Our heat pump dryers save 66% energy per use compared to conventional dryers from 2006.

Siemens heat-pump dryers use a technology to recycle warm air to continue drying cloths. They are therefore especially energy-efficient and more economical than conventional condenser or vented dryers. The combination with the ecofriendly refrigerant propane makes heat-pump dryers even more beneficial.
